I am working on new ways to promote my writing. I saw this on TikTok and I thought I would try it on one of my own poems. This one is short because I made it for Tiktok but I am making them longer. I try to do 30 minutes for writing sprints and then 8 hours to help people sleep or if they are writing all day.

Calming Sounds

I have been making these calming videos. Manly for writers and readers but anyone can use them. When reading or writing, let these sounds relax you so you can focus on whatever you need, reading, writing or simply housework or other work. #thunderstorm #thunder #rain #rainsounds #readingcommunity #readingcommunity #writinginspiration #relaxing #relax #relaxingsounds #reading #readingcommunity #writinginspiration #writingcommunity #writinginspiration #nature #naturesounds #rain Check out Nancy Ann Creed’s works at: https://www.amazon.com/author/nancyann

Here are some of them! Check them out! If you have a sound like you like that most, comment it and I will work on making it.

The party's started, and the music's loud,
But I'm not really here, I'm just a crowd.
The laughter's ringing, and the drinks are flowing,
But I'm the one who's left, the one who's going.

I'm not sure why I'm here, or why I came,
I guess I thought I'd fit in, but I don't seem the same.
I'm different, I'm strange, I'm not like them,
I'm the one who's left out, the one who's not invited in.

I watch them all, they're laughing, they're talking,
They're having fun, and I'm just sitting here, watching.
I feel like an outsider, like I don't belong,
I'm the one who's left out, the one who's all alone.

I want to join in, I want to be like them,
But I know I can't, I'm not like them, I'm different.
I'm the one who's left out, the one who's not invited in.

So, I'll just sit here, and I'll watch them all,
And I'll try to smile, and I'll try to pretend,
That I'm not the one who's left out,
That I'm not the one who's all alone.

Calming Sounds

I am creating a series of calming sounds. I use these to help me focus when I am writing. I might use them in the future for writing sprints but for now I am just making them and putting them on Youtube for others to use for their own reading or writing.

Inspire Someone!

You are the light that shines through the darkness,
You are the hope that gives us strength,
You are the courage that keeps us going,
You are the inspiration that makes us better.

So never give up on your dreams,
Never give in to fear,
Never stop believing in yourself,
Because you are the one who can change the world.

So go out there and make a difference,
Show the world what you can do,
Be the inspiration that others need,
And change the world for the better.

Friend Like a Weed

I once had a friend,
Whose love was like a weed.
It grew and grew,
And choked the life out of me.

I tried to pull it out,
But it was too strong.
It wrapped its roots around my heart,
And I couldn't breathe.

I finally had to give up,
And walk away.
It was the hardest thing I've ever done,
But it was the only way to survive.

I'm still healing,
But I'm starting to feel like myself again.
I'm learning to love myself,
And I'm finding new friends who love me for who I am.

I'm not saying it's easy,
To walk away from a toxic friend.
But it's worth it,
To save yourself.

You deserve to be happy,
And you deserve to be surrounded by people who love you.
So don't be afraid to let go,
Of the people who are holding you back.

You're worth it.

Kitchen Stuff

My daughter suggested I make videos for things I have learned about cooking and basic kitchen stuff. When my mom passed when I was younger, there were some things she didn’t get to teach me. So, I am a late bloomer.

Here are two videos of some cool things I learned recently!

True Friendship

If you would know true friendship, look within
Your heart, and see if you can find a friend
Whose faith is strong, whose love is deep and true,
Whose friendship is as firm as rock or tree.

True friendship is not born of shallow moods,
Nor of a passing fancy; it is born
Of deep sincerity, of mutual trust,
And of a love that knows no selfish end.

A true friend is one who will not fail
You in your hour of need, who will not fear
To stand by you, though all the world condemns,
And who will help you bear your cross of pain.

A true friend is one who will not boast
Of his own virtues, but will rather seek
To hide his faults, and to magnify yours.
Who will not try to make you feel inferior,
But I will always strive to make you feel superior.

A true friend is one who will never tire
Of helping you, of encouraging you,
Of lifting you up when you are down,
And of cheering you on when you are discouraged.

A true friend is one who will never leave
You, no matter what happens, who will always
Be there for you, through thick and thin,
Through joy and sorrow, through sunshine and rain.

If you have found such a friend, be grateful.
And cherish him as the greatest gift of life.

On Writing

Yes, I still enjoy writing by hand. Don’t get me wrong, typing is easier and faster but I feel I am more creative with pen and paper.

I love the feeling of the pen in my hand,
The way the words flow onto the page,
The way my thoughts and feelings take shape,
And come to life in front of me.

I love the challenge of finding the right words,
The way they can create a world,
A story, a poem,
That can transport the reader to another place.

I love the power of words to change lives,
To inspire, to educate, to entertain,
To make people think,
To make them feel.

I love the feeling of being a writer,
Of being able to share my thoughts and feelings,
Of being able to make a difference in the world,
One word at a time.
