“The Shadow King is a horrible man. He and my father hated each other.” she smirked.

Matthew turned to her surprised by what he heard. “You’ve been the Shadow Realm?” He asked.

“Yes, several times with my father.” She said with a smile for she knew. “I heard there is a new king though, and he is worse than the first.”

“Oh, and what have you heard of him?”

“Well I heard he’s dreadful and ugly.” she laughed as she knew what she was doing.

“What! Ugly!” He said.

She laughed more. “And he smells bad too.” She covered her mouth to stifle the sounds of her laughter.

Matthew looked at her and smirked. “You know don’t you?”

She laughed as she tried to speak. “Know what, that I’m in love with the new Shadow King? I know who you are. And I also know you are not showing me your true self.”

He was confused. “But you’re supposed to be good and pure. At least you were.” He had planned to make her dark anyway, but he was wondering how dark she was now. What did her father do to her?

“I’d like to think I am.” She thought long and hard before she spoke. She never admitted this to anyone before. “Matthew I may not be as good as you think I am. My father made me help him with so many things. I have many regrets. Hatred is a strong emotion. Revenge and ruin lives I’m not as good as you think I Am,” she repeated this again to hi. “I lost so much. So many years of memories lost. All my family dead and then you came along, and just loved me for me. Then Justin came. I mean Shawn and we have this connection. It makes little sense, but he loves me. I wanted a family, and you gave me one. I love you. Now please show me the real you?”

Matthew was touched by this but he was also afraid. “What if you don’t like what you see?”

She smiles and takes his hand. “I don’t think you have to worry about that.”

He knew she was adding light to his life. It was a scary prospect and one he needed to be careful of. He couldn’t allow that much light in. “OK Maurelle.” He said as his skin returned to its dark red and his horns emerged. His muscles bulged as he turned to face Maurelle who sat up on the bed with her mouth open staring at him.

“I guess I’m that ugly and smelly guy.” He said as he wasn’t sure what her reaction would be. He couldn’t tell based on her facial expression.

“Wow.” Was all she could say. She moved close to him and moved her hands on his chest as she felt his muscles. “I wasn’t expecting the red but damn Matty.”

“Matty?” He smiled as he thought she was remembering her life. She hasn’t called him that in years.

“I mean how could you be sexier. Did you think I wouldn’t still love you?” She said, but she figured she better show him. She kissed him as she wrapped her arms around him and moved her hands along the muscles of his back.

Matthew pushed her back on the bed ash he laid on top of her.. His weight pushed down on her more. He was so much stronger than before. She moaned as he kissed her neck.

Rays of morning light shone on them as they made love. Matthew knew now he could have it all. Maurelle accepted him for who he was. She loved him even though he was this monster. Now it was just Shawn he has to worry about.
