“Did you see that?” He asked with a smile on his face. His entire face and demeanor seemed to lite up.
Maurelle saw something, but it was different. As Maurelle held his hand she heard a baby crying.
Maurelle was laying in bed when she heard the cry. Matthew rolled over and nudge her. “She needs you.” He said.
Maurelle mumbled something to him and then kissed him. “I know I’m going.”
He smiles, “I love you.” He said as she was leaving the room.
Maurelle turned back, “Oh yeah you love this I am the only one who can get up and feed her.” However Matthew was already sound asleep when she said this. She sighed and went down the hall to the crying baby.
As she walked down the hall, she stopped and looked into two other rooms. In one room, a young boy was sound asleep holding a football under his arm. Maurelle came in and pulled the covers over him. She kissed him gently on the head and then moved to the next room. In the second room a baby boy was fast asleep. She watched him for a moment until she heard the baby girl crying again. She assumed they must be twins. As she entered the room, she saw a little girl lying in a crib. She was crying as she was hungry. Maurelle lifted her up. “Shh, mommy’s here. My little Gwen.”
